  5. License information for users and distributors of Ad Hoc is found in the 
  6. Software License Agreement and Limited Warranty ("License Agreement") in the
  7. file LICENSE.TXT. Individuals who wish to give a copy of the evaluation
  8. version of Ad Hoc to friends or associates may do so subject to the terms of
  9. the license agreement.  This file (VENDOR.TXT) provides information and
  10. additional license terms for Shareware Distributors, Disk Vendors and
  11. Computer Clubs who wish to distribute the Ad Hoc version 1.10 Shareware
  12. Distribution Package.

  14. Shareware Distribution Package
  15. ------------------------------
  16. The Shareware version of Ad Hoc displays the words "Unregistered Ad Hoc" in
  17. the title bar of the main window, and the designation "Evaluation Copy" in
  18. the client area of the main window.  Only copies of this version of Ad Hoc
  19. may be distributed as Shareware.  Other versions of Ad Hoc not so marked are
  20. registered, or retail, versions and may not be distributed as Shareware.

  22. The Shareware Distribution Package is defined as the Shareware version of
  23. ADHOC.EXE as defined above, plus exact copies of all the other files listed in
  24. the file FILES.TXT.  These files must be compressed into a single file with
  25. the name ADHOC.ZIP that can be expanded with PKUNIP version 2 or later. 
  26. Distribution of an incomplete package, is forbidden.  Modification of the
  27. files in this package in any way or including additional files is also
  28. forbidden without written permission from ExLogica.

  30. Copies of the most recent version of the file ADHOC.WRI, a description of Ad
  31. Hoc (in Windows Write format), may be distributed separately without expressed
  32. permission, as long as the contents are not altered, deleted, or added to.

  35. Restrictions to Distribution
  36. ----------------------------
  37. Computer Clubs and User Groups wishing to add Ad Hoc to their software
  38. library may do so in accordance with the distribution restrictions listed
  39. below.

  41. No fee, charge, or other compensation may be requested for distributing
  42. copies of Ad Hoc, except:
  43.  
  44.   Operators of electronic bulletin board systems may make Ad Hoc available
  45.   for downloading only if conditions of the License Agreement are
  46.   met, and no fees are charged specifically for downloading Ad Hoc.  The
  47.   only permissible charges are the time-dependent charges for use of the
  48.   bulletin board.

  50.   Vendors of user-supported or Shareware software may distribute Ad Hoc
  51.   only with written permission from ExLogica.  Vendors may charge a disk
  52.   duplication and handling fee which, when pro-rated to the Ad Hoc product,
  53.   may not exceed eight (8) dollars.

  55.   Non-profit user groups may distribute copies of Ad Hoc to their members,
  56.   without specific permission,  subject to the conditions in the License
  57.   Agreement.  Non-profit groups may collect a disk  duplication fee not
  58.   to exceed five (5) dollars.

  60. Copies of Ad Hoc may not be rented or leased to others.
  61.  
  62. Operators of electronic bulletin boards or other information services must
  63. agree to remove Ad Hoc from their download libraries within one (1) day
  64. of a request from ExLogica.
  65.  
  66. ExLogica reserves the right to terminate a distribution license agreement
  67. with any vendor.  A vendor must remove Ad Hoc from its distribution as soon
  68. as possible (but not to exceed sixty (60) days) after such request from
  69. ExLogica.

  71. ExLogica, a dba of Lyle Groome, is the exclusive copyright holder of Ad Hoc
  72. Database Manager.  Utility routines found in dynamic link libraries used by Ad
  73. Hoc are used and distributed under licenses from Microsoft Corporation,
  74. Borland International, Inc., and Novell, Inc.  ExLogica authorizes
  75. distribution of Ad Hoc only in accordance with the following restrictions.

  78. Distribution by Disk Sets and CD-ROM
  79. ------------------------------------
  80. Ad Hoc may not be sold as part of another application or application package,
  81. including any commercial software offer, without a written agreement with
  82. ExLogica.

  84. Vendors who wish to distribute the Ad Hoc Shareware Distribution Package as
  85. part of a collection must obtain permission from ExLogica prior to beginning
  86. such a distribution.

  88. Before adding Ad Hoc to a CD-ROM or other collection, please check the
  89. release date of the version you have.  If the version is over six (6) months
  90. old, please contact us to ensure that you have the most current version.  Ad
  91. Hoc version 1.10 was released on Dec 27, 1993.  You may not start a new 
  92. distribution of outdated versions of Ad Hoc without written permission from
  93. ExLogica.

  95. Before distributing Ad Hoc on a "disk-of-the-month" club or similar type of
  96. distribution, you must check with ExLogica and insure that you are
  97. distributing the latest version of Ad Hoc.
  98.  
  99. You may not list Ad Hoc in advertisements, catalogs, or other literature
  100. which describes it as "FREE SOFTWARE".  The correct definition of Shareware,
  101. as explained in the file SHAREW.TXT, must be used.
  102.  
  103. Licensee shall not use, copy, rent, lease, sell, modify, decompile,
  104. disassemble, otherwise reverse engineer, or transfer the licensed program
  105. except as provided in this agreement.  Any such unauthorized use shall result
  106. in immediate and automatic termination of this license.
  107.  
  108. U.S. Government Information:  Use, duplication, or disclosure by the U.S.
  109. Government of the computer software and documentation in this package shall
  110. be subject to the restricted rights applicable to commercial computer
  111. software as set forth in subdivision (b)(3)(ii) of the Rights in Technical
  112. Data and Computer Software clause at 252.227-7013 (DFARS 52.227-7013).  The
  113. Contractor/manufacturer is Lyle Groome, dba ExLogica, 59 Golden Eagle Lane,
  114. Littleton, CO, 80127.
